Sweet Hearths

Ingredients

- Shortcrust pastry



- Blackberries jam



- Icing sugar



Ingredients for shortcrust pastry



- 300g white flour



- 2 eggs



- 80g sugar



- 100g butter



- 1 teaspoon baking powder




Preparation


Cut the butter into small pieces and let soften for a while at room temperature.


In a bowl put the flour, baking powder and sugar, add the butter and work with your fingertips until the mixture is crumbled.


Add the eggs, mix a bit with a fork and then work on a floured surface, with your hands until dough is smooth and homogeneous, then forming a ball, cover with plastic wrap and put it to rest in refrigerator for half an hour.


Take the pastry out of  the refrigerator and roll out with a rolling pin, cut it with a heart shape cutter. 


On some hearts make incisions with a smaller heart shape cutter. Put all the hearts  in oven and bake at 180° for about 15-20 minutes.


Let cool then put the jam on biscuits and cover with the incised heart.


Cover with icing sugar.
